Welcome to my February Newsletter!

This is the month for 'Good Lovers'!

This month we are reminded to consciously be aware of our capacity to give and receive love, and not just to a lover but to friends, family, teachers, strangers, and especially ourselves.

Self-love is truly the main ingredient for being a "Good Lover".

Being at peace with who you are from a state of authentic acceptance allows you to be less concerned about what others think of you and more engaged with giving and receiving love.

It's not always easy to love and accept yourself, especially if you've been programmed to do the opposite. But there are so many ways to cultivate love and appreciation for yourself. Meditations by people like Joe Dispenza can do much to help us become "Good Lovers".

This Valentine's Day take the time and opportunity to honor yourself.

  • Give yourself a gift. Instead of hoping and depending on someone else to give you something special, do that for yourself. A box of chocolate is always good for the soul!

  • Buy a beatiful V Day card. Take the time to write in that card all the things you'd like to hear and mail it to yourself. Then read it outloud - often.

Growing the capacity to love and honor yourself not only allows you to love and honor others more easily, but you will also find that others are loving and honoring you more than ever.

THE GOOD LOVER CHAKRAS:

One of the biggest challenges with being a "Good Lover" is anxiety. Stress and anxiety are at epidemic levels. We can't be in stress, anxiety and survival, and be in love at the same time. Fear and Love carry such opposing frequencies that we can't hold the space of both frequencies simultaneously.

As we have learned in my chakra workshop, the heart chakra - the chakra that governs the giving and receiving of love - is partnered and balanced by the first chakra. The first chakra is about survival, money, work, family, politics - all the things that can and are causing extreme stress and dysregulated nervous systems.

So..... When the first chakra is over or undercharged because of the epidemic we now face - that of fear and anxiety - guess what happens to the heart chakra?

Yup! That's right! It starts to shut down and get blocked, making it very difficult to be a 'Good Lover'.

To radiate pure love as a being of pure Light, the harmonious balance between heart chakra and first chakra is vital.

Below I am sharing some ways to open the heart (from the Heart Math Institute) and also ways to balance the first chakra

I'm also sharing a video by re-origin.com that will help you understand what a dysregulated nervous system is and how you can quickly reset your brain to feel more calm and settled.

Right now it is so important for all of us to learn and practice skills that will help us to be 'Good Lovers'.

Here is the video for understanding and resetting your nervous system:

The HeartMath heart exercise is a breathing meditation to help people feel more calm and reduce stress. The exercise involves:

  1. Focusing on your heart

  2. Breathing slowly and deeply through your heart

  3. Activating a feeling of appreciation or care for someone or something

  4. Following a pacer and prompts to moderate your breathing

The goal of the exercise is to bring your physical, mental, and emotional systems into alignment, or coherence.

Steps for the HeartMath heart exercise

  1. Focus on your heart

  2. Breathe in for five seconds and out for five seconds

  3. Repeat two or three times

  4. Activate a feeling of appreciation or care for someone or something

  5. Focus on that feeling as you continue to breathe

You can try these exercises to practice HeartMath:

  • Quick Coherence Technique

  • Focus on your heart, breathe slowly and deeply, and activate a feeling of appreciation

  • Heart Lock-In

  • Focus on your heart and a feeling of appreciation for someone or something, and try to sustain that feeling for five to fifteen minutes

  • Appreciation Breaks

  • Take a few breaks each day to make a list of things you appreciate, and choose one or two to hold in your heart

The first chakra, also known as the Root Chakra or Muladhara, is located at the base of the spine, near the tailbone. This chakra is associated with grounding, survival, security, and stability. When balanced, it helps you feel safe, secure, and connected to your physical body and the earth. An imbalance in the root chakra can lead to feelings of insecurity, fear, or instability.

Here are some tools and exercises to help balance and activate the first chakra:

1. Grounding Exercises

  • Barefoot Walking: Walking barefoot on natural surfaces like grass, soil, or sand can help ground you to the earth and strengthen your connection to the root chakra.

  • Root Chakra Meditation: Sit or lie down comfortably. Visualize a red light (the color of the root chakra) glowing at the base of your spine. Imagine this energy rooting you deeply into the earth, providing support and stability.

  • Earthing: Connect with the earth by standing or sitting with your feet on the ground (preferably in natural settings) to absorb the earth’s energy.

2. Breathing Exercises

  • Deep Belly Breathing: Sit comfortably and take a deep breath in through your nose, allowing your belly to rise. Exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing tension. Focus on bringing your energy down to the base of your spine with each breath.

One of my favorite Rapid Eye reframes is:

" No person, place, condition or thing has any power over me."

This affirmation is most true when we are holding the frequency of Love.

Let's all be 'Good Lovers' this month and always!

Love to all!

Paula
